Meditation

We will start each day with a morning meditation walk and reflection. During this time, we will spend time learning to use our breath, learning to recognize stillness as we walk in the quiet presence of the morning. (Along the way, pick up a rock that speaks to you. Do not over think…Feel it.)

When you lose a loved one to death, it is so easy and understandable that you may find yourself lost as well.  You may even be asking yourself, “what’s next?”  Or, “now what?” Your life with your loved one may have been your identity for so long.  Your whole life may have revolved around taking care of your loved one.  They were very much a part of your life and daily routine.  When they leave this earth, it can leave you ripped wide open. What do you do now that your loved one is not physically here? If your identity was based around keeping your loved one safe and sound, how do you begin to repair yourself and rebuild an identity without them? How do you answer, or stop asking yourself, the toughest questions - What happened? What could I have done differently? And the, “if only’s?”

On this 3-night, 4 day, all-inclusive retreat, you will find yourself in a beautiful setting, situated on 43 acres in Northern NM to roam, to reflect, to contemplate… to sit still.

If you find yourself believing that there might be something more. If you have a burning desire to seek and find your loved one. If you want to learn how to reconnect with who you are, and feel the value that you and your life have on this planet right now - this retreat, in the heart of the painted desert, might be for you.

Angie has carefully crafted this retreat with you in mind.  She provides personal instruction and offers experiential practice in a workshop setting allowing you to fine tune your newly acquired skill. Some of the methods you might find will fit nicely into your  toolkit and others might just be nice to know.  Each of us are individuals with different needs and desires.  The goal of her retreat is providing as many resources that have worked for her including favorite books, meditation, understanding energy, and most importantly a mindful awareness as you continue on your life’s journey.

The purpose of this retreat is to create an intimate gathering of other women who have lost a loved one to death and who are choosing to learn a new language to best communicate with our loved ones whenever we desire.

Home Cooked Meals

Our personal chef will cook delicious farm-table meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We will eat meals together, rotating around to each of the large family tables across Moonglades for fresh, home-cooked food, conversation, and company.

I know when I was a bit concerned about my younger son one evening - and as a mother most can probably relate to these feelings several times during their children’s life - instead of panicking, worrying, and getting my mind all wrapped up in the worst case scenarios, I remembered to just stop and breathe, and a voice from deep inside of my soul whispered, ‘Don’t worry Mom.  I got this.’  And sure enough, I knew that voice.  I knew that voice.  No words were necessary, it was from one soul to one soul.  When I did not allow my mind to take over like it has been programmed to do, it was important for me to trust and believe that little voice deep inside.  When I did, I allowed the process of life instead of forcing it my way.

Since the day we are born we are programmed in to a set of beliefs and programs.  These programs have come from parents, teachers, religion, and other social institutions. Everything, up until now, in life and death has been a set of rules, regulations, attitudes and beliefs. Not only in life, but how we view and ultimately navigate death, loss, grief, and suffering as well.

If you are ready to change your thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, and progams that you have been taught and continue to live as you navigate through loss, this retreat might be for you.

Healing Workshops

Journaling, arts and crafts, lectures, storytelling and sharing. We will engage in a variety of exercises and workshops to begin to heal from the inside out - learning from each other to begin to forgive ourselves, let go of negative forces in our lives, hold on to the ones we love, process pain and grief, and reframe the way we have been taught to survive to start living for our true selves.

Retreat Schedule

This is offering just a little taste of what you will experience if you choose to join me on this journey.  A more comprehensive schedule will be provided to you approximately four weeks before the start of the retreat.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH

Plan to arrive in the Land of Enchantment at the Albuquerque International Airport by 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 18th. Road Runner Shuttle Service, NM’s premier bus charter and private ride provider, will be picking you up where you will share a ride with other guests to Moonglades Retreat Ranch in Abiqui, NM in the heart of Northern New Mexico.  The ride from the airport to Moonglades is about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

7:00 PM : Light Dinner served by our own personal chef

8:00 - 9:00 PM : Before retiring for the evening, we will gather together in the large living room to formally introduce ourselves to one another. We will plan to go over the agenda, answer any questions, as well as setting personal intentions of what we wish to accomplish during our time together.

Choices: This retreat is going to challenge you to step out of your comfort zone.  We are all capable of making changes in our life from what we think, who we choose to be in our lives, what we choose to believe. It is ultimately our choice what we choose to believe as it pertains to death, dying, loss, living, and most importantly…life. We will begin to uncover some of the choices that have kept us stuck in certain patterns and behaviors.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH

7:30 AM : Breakfast

8:15 AM : We will start each day with a morning meditation walk and reflection.  During this time, we will spend time learning to use our breath, learning to recognize stillness as we walk in the quiet presence of the morning. (Along the way, pick up a rock that speaks to you. Do not over think…Feel it.)

9:00 - 10:30 AM : Session 1

During this workshop we will unveil the negative thoughts and energy that have prevented us from ultimate healing up to this point.  We will visit, not to stay stuck, but to recognize and move forward from these self-limiting beliefs and choices that have kept us stuck and unable to move forward from grief.  Angie will share her own personal tools and provide resources.

10:45 - 11:30 AM : Imagination - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Rock painting symbolism of our loved one. Colors and textures. Opening our mind to imagination.  Giving ourselves permission to create and learning to honor our imagination with a childlike curiosity and a wonderment.

LUNCH

1:30 - 3:00 PM : Session 2

Most of us have not healed from our past and our past is a great predictor of our future, so it is important to begin to be aware what we are feeding our minds and souls.  What thoughts do you think every day? Are they poor me, I miss her, I wish he were here. What am I going to do without her?  We will begin to reparent our inner child. Learn new tools to navigate through loss finding gratitude in their life, their memories, and what they brought to us while on this earth plane. Learning self-care with our minds, bodies, and spirits.

Through a journaling exercise we learn to ask, from our loved ones, what we need.  We begin to recognize those guardian angels or spirit guides that are always around us, helping us, guiding us.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH

7:30 AM : Breakfast

8:15 AM : Morning meditation walk and reflection.

10:00 AM - 11:45 AM : Session 3

“Recognizing the power and influence of energy.  We learn to feel as well as practice with the different energies that surround us.  Energy is a feeling, trauma to be healed, and  we begin to teach our bodies that our mind is no longer our master and our heart becomes or master.  We will learn how to get in touch with our own navigation system, our (PGS- Personal Guidance System).  Learn to Feel through your emotions fully, it begins with trusting yourself and practicing  discernment.

The law of attraction will present to you exactly the packaging you are practicing every day.

We are the creator of our own realities.  How are you choosing to create the way in which you are navigating your loss?  What is it that you want as you live without your loved one.  Non physical information and support and guidance available to us if we allow.  You are creating the world through the vibration of your point of view.  Is this what you want to

Here’s more evidence that what you are thinking and feeling and living

LUNCH

Milky Way.jpg

Star Gazing

Moonglades is 2.5 hours from any light noise offering a sky of brilliant stars for us to gaze sitting with hot cocoa and tea to share stories of our loved ones, not to lament but to celebrate their human lives, but also their spirit lives now. We will look through a high powered telescope as for an evening of meditation under the brilliant canopy of stars as they smile down upon us.

My life changed when I quit believing in what I had been taught and started living what I learned.
